Posted October 05, 2018 07:53:54 In the wake of the death of Sunflower star Tom Malone, the actor has taken to Twitter to defend his decision to have his star taken down from the internet.
“I’m glad you can see that I don’t know the answer to this question, Tom Malon,” the star tweeted.
“What are you going to do, just sit back and take the stars down?
The answer is always the same, to stand up and do something.”
Malone’s star was taken down by Facebook for the “harmful content” and “misleading content” it contained.
“It is my opinion that this is one of the most harmful content I have ever seen on Facebook,” Facebook told Al Jazeera.
“While the content was upsetting, it was never intended to hurt anyone, and I had no intention of hurting anyone.”
The star added: “I have no issue with the star being taken down, but I do not support the idea that Facebook should be able to control the content that comes out of their platform.”
